Katie is an independent celebrant based in Crete, where she has lived for the past ten years. Born and raised in Edinburgh, she spent almost a decade performing in theatre and on cruise ships across Europe before becoming a celebrant, and it shows: she knows how to hold a room, tell a story and get the timing right.
Every ceremony starts with a discovery call to make sure you’re the right fit for each other. Once you’ve booked, Katie sends a detailed questionnaire about your story and personalities, along with ideas for what your ceremony could include. She then writes a script just for you and refines it with you until it feels right. If you’re visiting Crete beforehand, she’s happy to meet for a coffee.
On the day, she arrives at least an hour early and checks in with your planner, photographer and musicians so the ceremony runs smoothly. Katie leads symbolic ceremonies and can work alongside the mayor or registrar who carries out the legal part.
